Initially, I had a completely different idea for this week. But, I guess you could say that recent events have stirred me to action and pushed my work in a different direction temporarily.
This is the first mixed media piece that I have done in quite awhile. It is part of a series of illustrations that I created to benefit relief efforts in Japan. Some pieces have already sold, but others are available in my Etsy shop. ALL proceeds will go directly to the Red Cross.
Please consider purchasing one of these pieces or making your own personal donation, if you haven’t already.
Title: Sakura (shadow box)
Camera: Nikon D80
Notes: This is a detail shot from a mixed media shadowbox that I just added to the Etsy shop. All proceeds benefit Red Cross relief efforts in Japan.
I am happy to report that, as of this afternoon, my studio is (as) clean (as it’s going to get)!
I am also happy to report that I unearthed some more giveaway-worthy pieces. I’m guessing my next giveaway will need to be a little easier since the last one got tons of hits, but few comments. Boo.
Now that I can finally move in there again, I really don’t have any excuses not to get some real work done (unless you count those pesky domestic responsibilities that bog down my days – heh).
Once I finished cleaning and organizing, I started work on a very quick series of cherry blossom illustrations. I will be making them available on Etsy soon and 100% of the proceeds will benefit Red Cross relief efforts in Japan.
