Randoms

It’s been awhile since I posted some of my random ramblings. I’m sure you’ve all missed them terribly. Heh.

So, here’s some stuff…

It’s the last day of the month, and being that I am a stat-checking freak, I am happy to report that my number of visitors more than quadrupled this month! So crazy. I’m not just standing in a room talking to myself anymore.

My studio is a serious mess. It is definitely time to purge and I’m thinking of doing it in the form of some giveaways. I haven’t done one in forever and I need to come up with some creative ideas.

I really shouldn’t have bought that bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs.

I added a page to the blog for coloring pages. Hopefully, it will make it easier to find/print the pages. Because when the kids are bored and screaming, the last thing anyone wants is to make them wait for their coloring pages. Heh.

I’ve been meaning to tell everyone who thanked me for including them in my Friday Favorites that no thanks is necessary. You all earned your spots!

I’m finding that I’m spending more time blogging these days than actually creating anything. I’m not sure exactly how I feel about that.

Show me some love on Facebook, if you haven’t already. Pretty please? (Pssst, that’s the first place that I post about giveaways.)

You know, no one ever tells you what kind of ridiculous things will come out of your mouth when you become a parent. Honestly, if someone had told me that I would utter the phrase ‘Don’t lick the furniture!’ not once, but multiple times, I probably wouldn’t have believed them.

Eh, I guess that’s all I’ve got.

A Quick Word About Coloring Pages

The coloring pages that I post on the blog are free for anyone to print and use. However, I do have a few simple requests (also known as rules).

1. DO NOT alter the pages so as to remove my copyright information. I work very hard on all of my designs and it is only fair that I should receive credit for them. Also, don’t alter my designs. Use the pages as posted and for their intended purpose.

2. DO NOT attempt to sell any of the pages that you print. I am happy to post these pages for use by parents, grandparents, babysitters, teachers, and others who work with children for free and they may be printed as many times as you would like, but please do not take advantage and ruin it for everyone.

3.  Please try to be environmentally conscious. Printing on both sides of the paper is a great way to conserve! Also, if you decide not to keep already colored pages, be sure to recycle them. If you have extra uncolored pages, share them with friends!

4. Make coloring time fun AND educational. I have included blank lines on all of my coloring pages for practicing writing. Use them to work on writing letters or names. Also, talk about the words, pictures, and colors on each page.

5. Always be encouraging. It’s not always about coloring inside the lines!

To summarize: Be nice and have fun!

Random Randomness

So, I am finally caught up on my 365 postings and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I absolutely hate falling behind on things and I am so happy to be caught up on at least one thing in my life. My apologies to anyone whose RSS feeds were overrun with my photo posts. Heh.

Monster Hat Madness continues around here and, while I am secretly longing to return to my paints, I have to admit that I’m having fun designing hats. I just finished my first Owl Hat and I’m pretty happy with it. It looks like I’ll have the opportunity to make a few more soon and hopefully, it won’t be long before they show up in the Etsy shop (famous last words!).

I still feel like a stranger in a strange land there. I’m really trying to familiarize myself with the way things work and how other people manage their shops, but I’d really much rather spend my time designing and creating. If anyone out there has any words of wisdom or encouragement with regards to the confusing quagmire that is Etsy, please don’t hesitate to share!

Speaking of sharing, I mentioned previously that I have been working on some things to share with parents (or grandparents, or babysitters, or anyone else who dedicates time to entertaining/educating kiddos). Right now, two of Sir’s favorite things are ABCs and coloring. So, I’ve been making alphabet coloring pages for him. I am hoping that eventually I will find the time to tweak some of the designs and make my own little coloring books. For now, I’m willing to share some of them here on my blog. They will be in .pdf format making them easy to download and print. I am hoping to post the first one this week (on Thursday maybe – just in time for the weekend when it is easy to run out of fun kid activities).

And so it goes…
